It is always interesting to learn about the books that have inspired our favorite authors. Samin Nosrat, quickly became an EYB Member favorite with the publication of her award-winning tome Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. Nosrat, who is currently working on a new cookbook, sat down with Vulture and and gave them the rundown on her top ten favorite books.

As you might expect, the list is diverse and includes a lot of cookbooks. You will find everything from a reference work (Harold McGee's On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen) to a book of poetry (The Hungry Ear: Poems about Food & Festivity by Kevin Young). In between are expansive, pieces like Gran Cocina Latina: The Food of Latin America by Maricel Presilla and intimate tomes such as Honey from a Weed by Patience Gray.
It's not surprising that Nosrat's books are eclectic and vibrant. It seems that Vibration Cooking: Or, the Travel Notes of a Geechee Girl by Vertamae Smart-Grosvenor made Nosrat's favorites list. While she has certainly found her own voice, you can definitely see how the books she admires have influenced her writing.
