The Great British Bake Off announced that the show will return to the UK on Monday 22 September at 8:00 p.m. on Channel 4. We also got a sneak peek at this year's cast, which as usual is a cross-section of the UK population: a law student, a pediatrician, an artist, an accessibility coordinator, a hairdresser, and more with ages ranging from 21 to 67.

As usual, those of us in the US will have to wait a few days, until Friday, 25 September, before we get to see the show. If there's enough interest we will continue to do our weekly episode recap, so please let us know if you would like to see that return this year. Things are going to be a bit different as Nigella Lawson joins Paul, Alison, and Noel in the tent. This is the first personnel change since 2023, when Alison joined the cast.

Nigella said that it was “daunting” to follow Prue Leith and original judge Dame Mary Berry, but said she was “bubbling with excitement”. She also said it was a "huge honour to be entrusted with" judging the GBBO.
