Do we need another book devoted to cake? Yes, we do. Why? Because the author wants us to experiment beyond the cake recipes we normally turn to and try new flavors and textures. In her debut cookbook, she provides all the recipes we need to do that. Sure you can make a simple chocolate cake for a dinner party but when you slice up a Malted chocolate cake with Baileys Irish cream ganache (which is just as easy to prepare) you will be crowned queen of the cakes.
