With all of the negativity that seems to be invading my news feed these days, I must admit I am a sucker for food-related posts that lighten my mood. Today's winner in that regard was the announcement of the type of wedding cake that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly favoring.
Food and Wine reports that the royal couple allegedly want a wedding cake made from bananas, according to an anonymous source that tipped off The Telegraph to the request. Apparently Harry loves anything banana-flavored, and bananas played a cheeky role in their early romance. Shortly after the pair went public, Markle posted a photograph of two bananas "spooning" on her Instagram feed.
I also happen to enjoy banana treats, and have a penchant for Rose Levy Beranbaum's Cordon Rose banana cake from The Cake Bible. If the royal couple is interested, the EYB Library contains over 100 online recipes for banana cake, including these Member favorites:

I picked it up and the staff all came out and looked at me.
It was the first wedding cake they had ever done.
