If you've ever
thought about a vegan diet, this is a cookbook you don't want
to miss. Mark Bittman, Times columnist and author of bestsellers
like How to Cook Everything, has just published
a new cookbook promoting what he calls a flexitarian diet.
It's called The VB6 Cookbook (Vegan
Before 6 P.M.), and it contains
over 350 recipes for vegan meals. We're delighted to offer five
copies of this cookbook.
Read the EYB interview with Bittman to learn more about the cookbook and the VB6 diet.
For your chance to win a copy, just answer the following question: What is your favorite vegan main dish recipe?
Additional rules are:
- Please make certain you have signed in to the EYB website (you don't have to be a paid member). This ensures that we have your email address and can get in contact with you.
- The giveaway will expire in 4 weeks on June 6, 2014.
This contest is now closed. The 5 lucky winners, selected by random number generator, are Mimmi, wanda72, earthnfire, readingtragic, and robinj.

I recently discovered a recipe for beer-battered tempeh that is not low-fat at all, but it is really, really good. Cut the tempeh into bite-sized pieces, steam it, whip up a beer batter, coat the pieces, and fry 'em. Throw them on top of a salad or a stir-fry and you've got dinner.
Hmmm...maybe that's what should be for dinner tonight.

1) It’s pure comfort food, reminiscent of the days I ate dairy
2) I like eggs, but don’t like eating food that forces animals to have inhumane living conditions
3) I like messing with people. With my recipe, people never know they’re eating a vegan Vegg Salad Sandwich. I usually don’t even tell them (as Bittman quotes in your interview), or I wait until they’re done eating and THEN tell them. It’s entertaining to watch the look on their face. ;)
I would LOVE to get more ideas from this book!
